Jean at Catholic Fire has tagged me for a meme.
Here's a fun quiz made up especially for bloggers. The rules are easy. Just post the quiz on your blog and answer the questions, then pass it on to five other bloggers, and link to them in your post. Be sure to link back to the one who sent it to you.
1. Do you attend the Traditional Latin Mass or the Novus Ordo?
As far as I am aware there is no TLM in our whole diocese so I attend the Novus Ordo.
2. If you attend the TLM, how far do you drive to get there?
NA
3. If you had to apply a Catholic label to yourself, what would it be?
Roman Catholic.
4. Are you a comment junkie?
absoultely. I love to talk and I love to comment. I also love it when people comment here.
5. Do you go back to read the comments on the blogs you’ve commented on?
Yes. Most of the time. Sometimes I forget where I have left comments so I don't go back.
6. Have you ever left an anonymous comment on another blog?
Never. In the days that I didn't have a blogger account I still left my name by choosing other rather than anonymous.
7. Which blogroll would you most like to be on?
I think I would like to be on the Spirit of Vatican II banned websites blogroll.
8. Which blog is the first one you check?
My own.
9. Have you met any other bloggers in person?
Not yet but next Wednesday I am meeting Louise.
10. What are you reading?
Nothing at the moment but in a couple of weeks I am getting Designing your own Classical Curriculum to prepare to home school my two youngest school student next year.
Bonus Question! Has your site been banned by Spirit of Vatican II? No, it has not. If it has, who do you think Father Tim really is?
No. I haven't been banned by Spirit of Vatican II but I would like to be.
I think that Fr. Tim is a very devout Catholic Priest from Knoxville.
Now I tag Jackie at Catholic Mom of 10
Jane at building the Ark
Shelly at Party of nine.
Ellie at A peek of the Pecks.
and finally
Viking at Vikings Vocation
Edit to add, since Jackie doesn't want to do this meme I have decided to tag Eamonn at Peregrinus Hibernenis. This is a sneaky tag. I want to see what answer's Lowdenclear would give to this but she doesn't seem to like me giving her meme's so if I give it to Eamonn I am sure he will pass it on to her and it wouldn't even be my fault that she had it. Hee hee.
All about Therese, Steve, Daniel and Angelique, Sam and Jess, Madeline and Daniel, Brigette and Adriano, Tom, Amelia and Ryan, Christopher and Joseph. Come on in and share a cup of coffee and see what is happening in our lives.

After a crazy day yesterday
I am looking forward to a nice relaxing Sunday.
I woke this morning to some good news. I have won a blessed St. Michael medal and prayer card from Karin. I looked up the info to find out what offices are given to St. Michael and was one of the winners. Thanks Karin
We will go to Mass this morning and the do some family activities.
Tom and Amelia are going to have a cooking class and we will make a cake for tomorrow. Tomorrow is my birthday so we need a cake.
We will get the family scrapbook out and do some more.
We may go for a walk to the park and play. If we get there we will also go to McDonalds and have an icecream.
Have a great Sunday.

Some Anonymous poster from Chicago.
Has left a comment in my please pray post.
If you ever went back and read your entries, you would see how empty your devotion to a dying faith has left your life.
Well I just have to say that my faith most certainly isn't dead anon and my life most certainly isn't empty. I have a very fulfilling life. My life is so fulfilling that I don't have a need to go leaving anonymous insults on blogs or spamming message boards. I know you have been at dcf message board and at other dcf ladies blogs.
Second of all I know your Internet provider and where you live. I have decided to turn the anonymous comments off but I can tell you that if I wasn't I would have no hesitation in reporting you to your Internet provider if you kept harassing me and other blogs I link too.

New Blog
I am starting a new blog.
Mary's Prayer Garden is my new blog that will show the prayer intentions for anyone that wants to have prayers offered for any intentions.
Each week I will put up prayer intentions that I am aware of from around the web and if you want to have a spacific prayer intention added you can email me and I will put your prayer intention up. I will offer my daily rosary for all the intentions that are there.
The prayer intentions will be updated every Sunday.
If I put up a prayer intention for you and your prayer is answered I would love to hear from you too so that I can put it up on the blog and we can give thanks to God.

Dear Tech Support:
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed that the new program began making unexpected changes to the accounting modules, limiting access to flower and jewelry applications that had operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0. In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.9 but installed undesirable programs such as NFL 5.0 and NBA 3.0. Conversation 8.0 no longer runs and House Cleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.- Desperate
Dear Desperate,
Keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an entertainment package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system. Try to enter the command: "C:/ I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME" and install Tears 6.2. Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications:Guilty 3.0 and Flowers 7.0. But remember, over use can causeHusband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0or Beer 6.1. Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will create"Snoring Loudly" wave files. DO NOT install MotherInLaw 1.0 or reinstall another Boyfriend program. These are not supported applications and will crash Husband 1.0. Insummary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. Consider buying additional software to improve performance.I personally recommend HotFood 3.0 and Lingerie 5.3.

Holidays again.
Tomorrow is the last day of school for our children and for Steve. We have two weeks of not having to be anywhere at any particular time.
The first week I will take the girls and Christopher to Adelaide. We will go and see family and friends and have a day of shopping with my girlfriend.

The boys will probably have take away every night and sit at the computer until they look like this lol.
I pinched this picture from paramedic girls blog
At the end of the second week the WYD cross will be here. There will be a procession with the cross across the bridge with the stations of the cross along the way. They will process to the school and have a sausage sizzle. The next morning there will be an early mass and breakfast at the church and then the cross will move onto Wilmington. We won't be able to get to WYD next year so it will be good to be part of things here.
Rubiks cube photo.

H/T to Shelly at party of 9 for this.
I think it looks great. This is Amelia with her friends at her party this year.

crossword proposal.
H/T to Joel at on the other foot blog for this article.
This is a great story. clued in .
A marriage proposal inside a crossword puzzle yields the correct answer: Yes!
The clue for 111 across in yesterday’s Boston Globe Sunday magazine crossword puzzle was “Generic Proposal.” The answer (spoiler alert, for those still working on it!) was “Will you marry me?”
Most puzzle devotees no doubt just moved on to the next clue when they solved that one. But for Aric Egmont of Cambridge, those 14 letters on the grid were the actual proposal he’d been plotting for months to his girlfriend, Jennie Bass.
Egmont, 29, who works in the communications department at Fidelity Investments, contacted the magazine this summer to ask if the people who create the puzzles would be willing to write a special one for him. Sunday mornings for he and Bass, he said, have always included tackling the Globe magazine crossword, a tradition that started early in their relationship.
“On our fourth date, I knew I had found the kind of dork I could love,” Egmont wrote in a note to the magazine. “We had already had some more adventurous outings. But on our fourth date we just went to the local coffee shop and did the crossword. That date was the first moment when we stopped relying on some kind of event to set the agenda, and instead we took that first tiny step towards normalcy, spending time together doing the same things we would regularly do on our own.”
Emily Cox and Henry Rathvon, a married puzzle-writing team who have been writing Globe magazine crossword puzzles for years, accepted Egmont’s challenge. Their puzzle was titled “Popping the question,” and each theme entry was a variation on proposals. For example, “Macrame artist’s proposal” was “Let’s tie the knot.”

Tom has been sick.
I thought we had got rid of the bug but Tom just threw up. Fortunately it was before I gave him any insulin. I will have to keep an eye on his bsl's through the night and make sure they don't go low. If he goes to low he dehydrates and needs a drip.
triple digits today.
Today is going to be 38 here. That is over 100 in Fahrenheit. A bit of a surprise since we have been having beautiful weather. Yesterday was perfect. It was 28 and we had a slight breeze. I really should have finished of the washing but was busy with other things. Today will be too hot to go out and hang it out so I will wash it and get Sam to hang it all tonight.
Today Amelia is having a psych assessment. She is having a lot of trouble grasping literacy concepts. We are having her assessed to see if she has any thing like dyslexia. We are also thinking about homeschooling both her and Tom next year. Amelia needs the one on one and because Tom is getting a pump he will need to program it every time he eats. It isn't something an 8 year old is really capable of so instead of going to school every lunch and recess I will do home school work with him.

Thanks for all the prayers.
Christopher has managed to keep everything down today that he has eaten. He is still running a fever but I am sure he is on the road to recovery and will be much better tomorrow. Also Tom is looking well and doesn't look like he will catch this. So thanks for all those that prayed for us.
God bless

Mathetes Award.

I am feeling very honoured to have been chosen by Marie and Ginny for this award.
Here is what the Mathetes award is:
"Its a brand new award being passed out. It is the Mathetes Award. created by Dan King of Management by God to recognize those who take to heart the Great Commission and further God's Kingdom by creating more disciples for Him. According to Dan mathetes is the Greek word for disciple. The rules for the award, as posted by it's creator are as follows: In the spirit of this award, the rules are simple. Winners of this award must pick five other "disciples" to pass it on to. As you pass it on, I just ask that you mention and provide links for (1)this post as the originator of the award (Dan King of management by God), (2) the person that awarded it to you, and then (3) name and sites of the five that you believe are fulfilling the role of a disciple of Christ."
So my five people that I want to pass this award onto:
1 and 2 go to Kris and Moira at Party of Nine
Kris and Moira don't even know me or that I exist. I came across their blog from Muddy Mama's.I have chosen Moira because she wrote a beautiful tribute about her sister that was born with Downs Syndrome. You can read it here . I have chosen Kris because she has obviously done a great job raising her children to have a child that can write such a tribute to her baby sister.
My third choice is Muddy Mama . Muddy Mama is such a good friend and I feel encouraged to live a faithful life by her example. I enjoy going and reading her blog and seeing what is happening in there lives.
Fourth is Diana at St. Fiacre's garden . I love visiting this blog too.Diana is both funny and witty. I also learn many things from her blog like her prayer to St. Fiacre. I hadn't even heard of St. Fiacre until I went to Diana's blog.
My final choice is Ebeth at A Catholic mom climbing the pillars. What a great blog Ebeth has. I love her daughters saint reports and her sharings. I really loved her post on being a good Catholic Parent.

Please Pray
Christopher has picked up some Gastro bug. He has had the runs all day and tonight when we thought he was finally looking better he was sick all over me. Please pray for a quick healing and that Tom doesn't get this bug. When he gets gastro he usually needs to be hospitalized and put on a drip because of his diabetes. Thanks.

The Land without Sunday
A while ago I posted about making Sunday a Lords day. you can read about it here.
Today Rachel posted This article from Fisheaters at DCF Message Board.
I haven't read the whole article yet but what I have read has been good.
Here is a bit from it:
"Instead of a Sunday," Baron K. told us, "the Russians have a day off. This happens at certain intervals which vary in different parts of the country. First they had a five-day week, with the sixth day off, then they had a nine-day work period, with the tenth day off; then again it was an eight-day week. What a difference between a day off and a Sunday! The people work in shifts. While one group enjoys its day off, the others continue to work in the factories or on the farms or in the stores, which are always open. As a result the over-all impression throughout the country was that of incessant work, work, work. The atmosphere was one of constant rush and drive; finally, we confessed to each other that what we were missing most was not a well-cooked meal, or a hot bath, but a quiet, peaceful Sunday with church bells ringing and people resting after prayer."
Since my post we have made more of an effort to have a family day on Sunday. We go to Mass as a family and make a conscious effort to avoid doing work that isn't necessary. This has made Saturday a bit more hectic but it is good to have a day that is resting and spending time with our children. The younger children particularly like it. We have taken them to the park for a play, spent an afternoon scrapbooking and had friends over for lunch and coffee. We thought we would pray the rosary and Devine Mercy Chaplet as a family but that hasn't happened yet. Maybe next week we will.
After reading some of the article I want to make a few more changes. It would be good to read the Sunday readings and Gospel as a family on Saturday night. It would be good to pray the rosary then too. Now that the weather is nice we could walk to Mass.
What do you do on Sunday to make it the Lord's day?

I should be in bed.
But instead I am checking out new features that I can put on my blog.
I came accross a new clock at party of nine blogspot. I have put it on the side bar so you all know what time it is where I live.

Please pray for a cure for Type One Diabetes
Our sons Tom and Christopher and our daughter Amelia are type one diabetics. We pray everyday for a cure. We do not want one by illicit means though so don't support any organisation that contributes to Embryonic Stem Cell Research. Click on the photo of Tom and Christopher to read about why I am against using Embryonic Stem cells for a cure.
