A high and low day.

This morning at 4.30 Tom woke up vomiting. He had high bsl and ketones so ended up at the hospital for the day. Usually when he has ketones he get dehydrated pretty quickly and needs a drip. Fortuantly he didn't need a drip today and we were able to keep his hydration at a level that he didn't need a drip.

Tonight he looks a bit flat and is still feeling unwell. We have his bsl under control and ketones are negative so I hope this will pass quickly. Prayers would be appreciated for a quick recovery for him.

I'm so sorry to read of Tom's ketoacidosis. We'll be praying that he recovers quickly and is soon back to health.

Lots of prayers coming your way!

Ketones in the blood isn't always ketoacidosis. If Tom had had that he would have definitely had to have a drip and it would have been pretty likely that he had to stay in hospital tonight.

Thanks for the prayers though.

Oops, sorry. A little knowledge in the hands of amateurs is often dangerous. I hope I didn't hurt or offend either you or Tom.

I knew ketoacidosis was bad - that's why I was so concerned for him. Glad it wasn't that!

Trust everything is better this morning.

No offense taken Jeanne. Sugars still a bit high this morning but he does look better than he did last night.

Please pray for a cure for Type One Diabetes

Please pray for a cure for Type One Diabetes
Our sons Tom and Christopher and our daughter Amelia are type one diabetics. We pray everyday for a cure. We do not want one by illicit means though so don't support any organisation that contributes to Embryonic Stem Cell Research. Click on the photo of Tom and Christopher to read about why I am against using Embryonic Stem cells for a cure.
