Sew Serendipity.

I bought this sewing book a while ago, after reading about it at Michelle's blog.

Since getting it, I have wanted to write about what a great book this is. It has endless fashionable skirts, tops, dresses and coats. I don't think there is any pattern that I didn't like when looking through.

There are full size patterns at the back and really great instructions all the way through. Totally recommend this sewing book for those that sew and those that want a few tips to start sewing.

In Australia it is available from Fishpond.

Sounds like a great book Terese, I wanted to buy a nice skirt for Simone's baby shower and ended up paying $80!!!!

I really should make time to learn how to sew clothing it would save us a bunch of money :)

Jeanne,

As far as machines go, there are some really expensive brands like Bernina and Elna but I have never had the money for them. At school, I learnt on an Elna but I really could not tell you if it is any better than a middle of the road machine.

I have had singer and janome machines and janome is my hands down favourite. A while ago, I bought my girls a janome machine because I didn't want them to use mine. I bought them the Janome MS5027. It has a lot of features that the more expensive machines have and was less than 500.00. There are some machines out there that you can get for only a couple of hundred dollars but they will not have the features that make sewing easier.

Fun!! I will put this on my wish list. Do you think a somewhat beginner could handle it?
