Two years ago today, my father passed away. He had been suffering from Alzheimer's for 13 years and while we were greatly saddened to loose him, we were glad that he was at peace.
I have written several blog posts about my dad and how he was a great example for me in living our Catholic faith. You can read them all here.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Please pray for a cure for Type One Diabetes
Our sons Tom and Christopher and our daughter Amelia are type one diabetics. We pray everyday for a cure. We do not want one by illicit means though so don't support any organisation that contributes to Embryonic Stem Cell Research. Therese, it is 38 years today that my father died. May both our fathers rest in peace.
Blessings to you, Therese, on this special day of rememberance for your dad! It's been 29 years since my father has been gone....and it's still just as raw as it was then. I miss him so.

Oh Therese, may your dear daddy rest in peace. My dad died in 2009 but it seems like yesterday. I miss him so.
i know how that loss feels therese. my family also lost my mom on november 12 2009. we lost our parents so close in time therese. my father will pass soon as well. 2 parents in 2 years. its really hard to fathom. but, well, God call you home when He calls you home. for our parents, its a glorious time to be with God. but for us, well we can remember that some day, we will also be re united with them in heaven. having the same glorious feeling. in heaven, all you know is happiness.

Michele, I remember each year that my dad and your mum dies around the same time. I bet they are up there praying for us both.
