Honeymoon coming to an end.

It is just about 14 months since we discovered that Christopher has type one diabetes. Since finding out he has been on insulin daily and his sugars have been pretty easy to manage. This past week, he has had very high sugars in spite of the insulin injections. I think his honeymoon phase is coming to an end.

Please pray for Christopher. He has been very unhappy over the last week or so. I am sure he feels revolting with the high sugars and doesn't really understand why this is happening.

He broke my heart when he asked me why he got diabetes. I really didn't know what to say to him. Tom gave him a hug and said I can help you and you can help me. I was very proud of Tom.

Our Lord gives us crosses to bear on earth, and if we accept our suffering as a gift from God to unite us with the suffering of Christ on Calvary, it draws us closer to God.How He loves those who are willing to suffer with Him!
Tom will be a good support. You have a wonderful family, Therese.

Yes; I will also keep Christopher in my prayers - kids have a difficult time understanding why they have something other kids do not. My girls, too - they have other maladies, but our motto is, "keep on truckin'" as we used to say in the early 70's. God's Will is hard, but if we accept it and teach our kids to do the same, His Peace will come. Good Mother that you are, you are strong by His grace. God Bless you all.

I'm sorry. I hope things even out.
It's such a roller coaster.
And yes, I too wonder why? Where does it come from? Why is T1D on the rise?
God bless

I know you are such a devoted Catholic family, so I think you should explain (if you haven't) that we all have to suffer in order to make up for sins, and it's better to do it in this life than in the next. He is a little Saint earning up his Heavenly reward.

I'm praying for your little guys, Therese. I hope the doctor can get Christopher's insulin regulated quickly and that he feels 100% very soon. It is so sweet that Tom is comforting his little brother.

HI Therese

It is tough on little Christophe. Many maladies are genetic e which I know as I have two on the autism spectrum. Having a firm faith helps you muddle along and hopefully they will find a cure before we are all dead and gone. You have my prayers for your two little boys.

Please pray for a cure for Type One Diabetes

Please pray for a cure for Type One Diabetes
Our sons Tom and Christopher and our daughter Amelia are type one diabetics. We pray everyday for a cure. We do not want one by illicit means though so don't support any organisation that contributes to Embryonic Stem Cell Research. Click on the photo of Tom and Christopher to read about why I am against using Embryonic Stem cells for a cure.
