I am going to be off the internet for another short time. Life is just too demanding for me at the moment and I don't have the time to devote to my blog or to read other blogs. I am missing everyone but our family needs come first. I will be checking email each morning if anyone wants to contact me or ask for prayers for anything.

I have added in a couple of links to the side bar.
1. Faith Quilt book.
On the left at the top is a link to a new book called Faith Quilt. This book is a collection of blog posts from various Bloggers (including me) put together by Suzy from Sailing by Starlight blog.
As stated under the link, the book is to raise money for two orphanages. One is in India and the other one is in Bolivia. I am sure the book will be a great treasure for those that buy it. Please click on the link in the sidebar to go directly to blurb and purchase a copy of Faith Quilt.

On June 6th, there will be a protest against the pill and what it does to women. Many women take the pill these day without even realizing how dangerous it is and the damage it can do to a women. Click on the link to read about the Pill and what it does to women. Spread the word also to let other women know about the protest.

Yesterday I watched Sarah Palin's interview with Charlie Gibson. I thought she handled herself really well. This morning I read This article that shows many key points were edited out by ABC.

Circus Royale.
Tonight, Steve and I took the children to the Circus. We saw the Circus Royale. What a great night of entertainment was had by all.
There were acrobat's, jugglers, contortionists, tight rope walker and clowns. They had llama's, camels, cows, geese, a dog and doves as well. Christopher was very excited about going and enjoyed the show thoroughly. He held on to me very tightly though when the tight rope walker walked across the rope on stilts.
If you live in Australia and hear about Circus Royale coming to your town, go and see it. It was such a wonderful treat for our whole family.

Mothers rule and flylady.
As all you regular visitors here know, I have been working on a Mother's rule and Flylady to help me make our house a bit less cluttered and the house work more manageable.
I started putting together a control journal. In my journal, I have written up my morning routine, our home school program, afternoon routine, my zone cleaning routines, a how to do oamc, a one page calender for the month that has all our bills written in their due date, what we will eat for tea that night and any unusual appointments that we don't do regularly. I have taken on Lynn's and Sarah's idea and I am planing on decluttering, beautifying and deep cleaning a room each month. The plan is written up in the control journal and I am also using Flylady's monthly inspection idea to help me write a list for each room.
The other thing I want to put in the control journal is a write up of each area that Holly speaks about in her Mother's rule book. For those of you that are not familiar with Holly's writings, she speaks about the five area's we need to look after as a mother.
The five area's are:
1. Person
2. Partner
3. Parent
4. Provider
5. Prayer.
So far, I have prayed and talked with Steve about the person and partner.
1. Person: I am trying to eat a better diet and drink less coke (one of my all time favourites). I am drinking more water because I am not drinking so much coke. Our meals are much better since I am doing the oamc so that has become a bit part of our routines. I am also making an effort to spend more time in personal prayer and getting to daily mass.
2. Partner. Having young children and teenage children in the house makes it hard for Steve and I to get time alone. We also haven't been praying together as much as we should. We have started to make an effort to go out for a coffee or a meal at least once a fortnight. During the holiday's we went out twice. Once out for tea and on the weekend we went out for coffee. We are also making a bit more of an effort to pray 5 decades of the rosary together each day.
Any other people out there put together any control journal or mothers rule? I would love to hear your ideas in the comment box.

Tasty Tuesday. Potato Pancakes.
I haven't done a recipe for a while so I thought I would share this one.
This recipe comes from Exclusively Foods. They are one of my favourite recipe sites.
The recipe is for Potato Pancakes. They are really yummy and very filling.
Here is the link to the recipe with photos.
Ingredients:
1 small onion.
625 potatoes (about 4 small ones).
1 large egg.
2 tbspns self raising flour.
salt and pepper to taste.
peel onions and potatoes. Grate both and squeeze excess moisture out of potatoes. Mix onions, potatoes, egg, flour, salt and pepper.
Heat oil in heavy based frying pan over medium to medium high heat. Drop scant 1/4 cup mixture into pan and flatten.
Cook potatoes for 4-5 minutes each side or until golden and cooked through. If they are cooking too fast, adjust heat.
This mixture makes about 9 pancakes. We triple the recipe for our family.
I wouldn't mind trying this one day with zucchini either. I am sure they would be pretty yummy too.

Take a stand for the Catholic Faith.
Australian TV has recently put a new program on TV called californication. This is the email I received about this program.
Hi friends,
Last night (Monday) Channel Ten ran the first episode of a new series called 'Californication' that has been proudly advertised as "the filthiest show on television". Even before it started the ads being run showed the lead actor (David Duchovny) in a Catholic Church being offered and receiving ######## from a nun dressed in full habit while he used his hand to shield the eyes of Jesus on the cross above him. It is a complete mockery of the Catholic faith and disrespect for things holy and decent.
In the episode that ran tonight five explicit sex scenes were packed into one 30 minute episode, including a romp with an under-age girl.
As Christians and as people of good-will we really must stand up against this type of 'entertainment'. It is a mockery of our beliefs (imagine the outcry if they used Muslims instead of Catholics) and it is promoting the over-sexualisation of a society that is already dying in immorality. We have divorce, broken families and addiction to ##########, do we really need more of it? These things continue to happen because we have allowed it to happen. When was the last time you wrote a letter to show your disapproval. I hear so many people complaining that society is going bad, well this is why.
What I am asking is that you write a letter to channel 10 today that voices your disappoval and disgust at such a show and the way it has defamed Christian beliefs. When a network receives a letter they take it to be expressing the views of a number of people so one letter does have great value. All you need to do is write in two paragraphs the show you are referring to and why you object to it. It should only be short for it is the sentiment that is important. Channel 10 does not receive complaints via email but letters sent by email are always not regarded highly anyway. The most noted correspondance is by post (just type it print it and post it - 5 minute job) or if it's easier just fax it off to them. Or even phone and register your complaint. I have attached the letter I sent today as a bit of a sample if that is a help to you. Remember it is not the length but the fact you are objecting to it.
Please pass this on to as many people as you can. Let's do our best to stop this particular immorality and bashing of Christianity today!
Today Adelaide now had This article asking if Catholics should be objecting to this show. Please go and vote. Take a stand for our Catholic Faith.

wow. Download patterns.
I have spent a big chunck of my day looking for a pattern for a jacket. It is a year since we have moved and still some of my sewing gear is packed up. Anyway I didn't find the pattern I have been looking for.
I came online earlier and decided to look for a pattern and order one on Monday and have it sent to me.
I came across download sewing patterns. I found a pattern that is just like I wanted so bought it and downloaded it. I am really excited. Tomorrow I will print it of and start sewing. Maybe I will even get Steve to take a photo of me in it and post it on here.
The jacket I am making can be seen here It is the the first pattern in the third row. (hooded jacket).

Please pray for a cure for Type One Diabetes
Our sons Tom and Christopher and our daughter Amelia are type one diabetics. We pray everyday for a cure. We do not want one by illicit means though so don't support any organisation that contributes to Embryonic Stem Cell Research.
