Ripe Broccoli.

tonight Steve bought in some broccoli from the garden. I was in the mood for some soup so looked for a recipe for Cream of Broccoli soup.

I found this recipe and it was great.

I doubled the recipe and we have enough left over for lunch tomorrow.

Oh, Therese! That looks delicious! However, north of the equator, it is hot, humid and uncomfortable! We are living on cold salads and ice-pops! I'll print the recipe and use it in October when the air gets a chill! Enjoy the cool weather! I'm melting up here!

I am doing the opposite here Lucy. I am keeping recipes for eggplant and zucchini for when we have them in our garden in summer.

We are having a very mild winter here but I still want my soups in the evenings.

Hot and humid or not, this is my craving right now...In fact, I've stopped by 2 places this week to pick some up! I think I 'll have to make some!

I'll probably start making and eating soup again in the "winter" months here. It's usually in the high 70's in the AM and mid-80s in the late morning to early evening. HOT! This recipe looks great, too, btw. I make a mean potato soup (got the recipe from a company called Pampered Chef . . . and I learned it and then tinkered with it to make it better).

What a beautiful pot of soup! Cream of Broccoli soup (and zucchini)bring back wonderful memories of my Nana's cooking. I loved both so much she would make it for me often. It's been a long time since I've had homemade soup.
I'll have to write down your recipe and give it a try.
Thank you!!!

Thanks for the recipe, I'm eagerly awaiting my first ever crop of broccoli. I'm a novice in the garden so I'm so excited!

Actually, the photo on my blog title is the little baby broccoli as it looked a week or so ago.

Jillian,

We didn't think it was ever going to ripen and then all of a sudden this week it did. Some of them nearly turned to seed it happened so fast. Keep an eye on your broccoli.

I love soup and homemade bread. We do cook a few but some of our more difficult eaters would never have this nice soup. It makes it hard to try new things. Ho Hum...
