Our babies heart beats!!!!!!!!!

Today we saw my new ob. I am nearly 13 weeks and we heard the babies heart beat for the first time. I love the sound. It certainly puts my mind at ease to hear it and know that the baby is growing.

The results were back from our 12 week nuchal translucency test and blood test. We have a 1:880 chance of having a child with Down Syndrome. I know that no matter what happens with our baby that God will be there for us and help us through any troubles. I think because of my age, I was a bit more concerned about it.

Now that we are just about in the second trimester, I am going to start thinking about names.

Christopher was going to be David if a boy or Celeste if a girl for most of the pregnancy last time. I still like Celeste but David just doesn't seem right for this baby. I really like a lot of traditional names for boys from the bible. Steve and I usually can pick a girls name pretty easily but when it comes to boys names, we always disagree. The names I like, he says no too and if I ask him what he likes he doesn't know. Anyway, I am sure God has a perfect name picked out for this child already.

That's great news!! Are you planning to find out the sex of the baby, or will it be a surprise?

Hi Sharon,

I am so mixed about finding out the sex of the baby. We have never asked for the sex before except for number 4. I asked because I had to have another scan at 28 weeks. It was too much for me going back again and I asked the sonographer what she thought the sex was. I really would like to know but it is fun to guess and wait.

It is so wonderful to hear the baby's heart beat for the first time! I am sure that no matter what happens with the Down Syndrome possibility the Lord will prepare you and your husband to be the BEST parents for this precious child of His. He has already chosen a name for this baby, and He will lead you to it. God bless!

I go back to the OB today-hard to believe I am at 33 weeks-it all seems so close now...

Still praying for you!

Congratulations, Therese! I didn't know you were pregnant -- how wonderful! Glad to hear that baby is doing well. I wish you much joy and a healthy pregnancy. Take care of yourself.

Therese ~ I think hearing the heartbeat really helps to solidify things for me.

As for finding out the sex, we did for our first and now for our fourth (I'm at 27 weeks now). I enjoyed the 'suprise' with my other two sons, but the youngest was so convinced this one was a girl that I had to know. Thankfully, he's okay with the knowledge that it's supposed to be another brother.

That'S so sweet!

If I were to have an other baby, it would probably be Noah, Daniel, Gabriel or Nicolas... as for a girl, I still dream about having an Isabella, but most likely it would be Angelina or Gabriella ;)

I can't wait to hear what name you chose, you do tend to choose good ones ;)

What about Lucas? ;)

Hi Therese,
It's wonderful to be able to hear your baby's ♥beat for the first time.

When we were trying to choose names for our children, we waited until the babies were born, as the names that we had been thinking about didn't really suit the baby.
Blessings,
Jillian

Hi Therese, its Mary -Anne. I don't have a blog and have no idea how to create one and my emails to your email address always come back! so I'll scroll here.Congratulations! How exciting for you all. Celeste is a very heavenly name and the name our friends gave to their baby girl 18 months ago... after 12 years of marriage and trying for a child. They are very blessed and she is gorgeous. My gut feeling is this is another beautiful girl for you, but hey, I'm just a midwife! Love to you all. PS. I suppose you'll want the musical swing back in due time???

Hi Maryanne,

Great to hear from you. If you want to leave more comments, what you can do is just click on the name url link. You can leave your name and it is optional to put in a url. I have signed out to show you what it looks like.

It is funny about the swing. Steve and I were talking about buying somethings from ebay for the baby and I suddenly remembered the swing. I said to him, hey, what happened to our music swing and Madeline piped up, you gave it to MaryAnne. I had completely forgotten. Just as well I have other children to remember it.

If you want to email me, there is an email in my profile. Just on the right is the about me and if you click on the link "view my complete profile" you will see a link for my gmail account.
