A long weekend.

This weekend Australia has Monday off to celebrate the Queen's birthday. Even though The Queen's actual birthday is on April 21st, we celebrate it in June.

The weather looks like it is going to be a bit cold but it is a perfect chance to spend some time sewing curtains. I am hoping to get the girls room done and do our last curtain in our bedroom.

Last night Steve and I watched Memphis Bell. It was a good movie. I enjoyed watching it. Steve's and my movie tastes are so opposite that we rarely can find a movie to watch that we are both interested in. This one we both enjoyed though. It reminded me of Pearl Harbor.

as you are already into saturday, i am still operating on friday evening.

and, coincidental to the movie you watched, I AM IN MEMPHIS TN.

Memphis is about a 9 hour drive from where we live in the state of INdiana.

tomorrow [Saturday]my nephew is being ordained into the Catholic priesthood for this Diocese of Memphis in Tennessee.

This evening we attended a dinner and Vespers Service at the Cathedral here. At the service, the Bishop anointed and prayed a blessing on our nephew's chalice and paten. they were specially ordered and made for him as a gift from his parents. these are the vessels he will now use at the masses he celebrates.

I hope to get some usable pictures at the ordination tomorrow to post on my blog.

Keep him in your prayers - his name is Dennis.

Hey Therese, if you get some time, why don't you post some movie titles that you enjoyed? I'm always keen to hear of good movies I might enjoy.

Please pray for a cure for Type One Diabetes
Our sons Tom and Christopher and our daughter Amelia are type one diabetics. We pray everyday for a cure. We do not want one by illicit means though so don't support any organisation that contributes to Embryonic Stem Cell Research. Click on the photo of Tom and Christopher to read about why I am against using Embryonic Stem cells for a cure.
