Back home for now.

thank you for all your prayers.

For those that don't know, my father is in the last stages of Alzheimer's disease. He stopped eating on Saturday and wasn't responding to any pain or anyone. He had a turn around yesterday and started eating again. Today when I took my mother to see him he looked much more alert and with it.

By God's grace he is still living. We really don't know how much longer he will be with us. He is peaceful at the moment so that comforts us all.

Therese, my prayers are with you.

My family experienced Alzheimer's first hand with my grandfather and my husband's mother at the same time. My mother-in-law had early onset Alzheimer's and was so young when it ravaged her. We actually lived with her for some time to make sure she could live her life at home, but it become extremely difficult with my young son in the house too.
It is so hard to watch our loved ones suffer from any disease, but it's especially difficult with Alzheimer's because they lose who they were, who we loved, and to see that blank look on their face when they really don't know who you are is the most painful.
Despite experiencing Alzheimer's first hand on both sides of the family, it taught all of us humility and respect. We also had a few laughs along the way.
You and your family will get through these difficult times. Cherish the time you have with your father. Embrace who he has become and never forget who he was.

My Nanna had Alzheimer's.
I remember how hard it was on Dad, as she forgot him.
Thank God you have the dear Lord to turn to for comfort.

Yes, that's important that he is peaceful. Prayers for continued peacefulness, and the Lord will take him up lightly when it is his time.

Please pray for a cure for Type One Diabetes

Please pray for a cure for Type One Diabetes
Our sons Tom and Christopher and our daughter Amelia are type one diabetics. We pray everyday for a cure. We do not want one by illicit means though so don't support any organisation that contributes to Embryonic Stem Cell Research. Click on the photo of Tom and Christopher to read about why I am against using Embryonic Stem cells for a cure.
