Back in January, I did a post about Greg and Jennifer eating at Scalinis in Georgia to try and bring on labor.
I get a lot of people coming to my blog searching for "Does Eggplant Parmesan induce labor?
It got me thinking. Obviously, I will not be able to get to Scalinis to have a dish of their eggplant so I decided to look and see if there is a recipe online that is said to induce labor.
I found one right here from Scalinis. I also discovered the recipe they have is actually Eggplant Parmigiana, not Eggplant Parmesan.
Steve's and my wedding anniversary is on the 26th of January. I will be 2 days off 39 weeks so I am thinking I should make this for our anniversary. If I was to have this baby a week early, I would love it. It would also mean that the baby would be born before school goes back.
All about Therese, Steve, Daniel and Angelique, Sam and Jess, Madeline and Daniel, Brigette and Adriano, Tom, Amelia and Ryan, Christopher and Joseph. Come on in and share a cup of coffee and see what is happening in our lives.

Hi Therese,
Very funny to see our video posted on your website.
FYI - Less than 48 hours after going to Scalini's last January, my wife gave birth to our baby girl.
Of course, she was more than a week past due, so we think that may have had something to do with it.
Either way, it's been a fun story to share with others, and now we can jokingly brag about having an official "Eggplant Baby." Our daughter's picture is even included on Scalini's website. :)
thats weird. I never heard it induces labour. We have some eggplant in the frig now and most of those ingredients. I have been meaning to cook it. perhaps I should try that recipe. Although, I hope it doesn't bring on labour yet ! LOL
I can't wait to see how it goes! I hope it will work.

for me, i wouldn't eat anything that induces labor unless specified by my doctor. i believe baby's come when God wills it but that is just me. the longer they are in the womb, the more they develop and grow. :) coffee has been proven to be unsafe for pregnant women.
Hi Greg,
I did a follow up about your little girl last January so already knew that she was born with two days of eating at Scalinis.
Does eggplant really induce labor? What always worked for me was walking and walking and walking--preferable at a mall where you can sit down every 100 ft. or so and then keep going. Eating eggplant sounds like more fun.
Rosemary,
I am sure that many of the things people tell you will induce labor are just old wives tales or just plain old coincidence.
Christopher was born 10 days late. I walked, I cleaned all our windows and ate lots of spicy meals. Nothing brought him on.
I expect that I will go over this time too but it is a nice excuse to eat some eggplant parmigiana.
I love Greg and Jennifer! I'm looking forward to listening to them today while I wait in the pick-up line at their school. (Our kids have a half day today.) I remember hearing about the eggplant parmesan; it's fun seeing Greg's post on your blog! :) I'm proud to have Jennifer as my friend on Faith & Family Connect, although I haven't been on the site much. BTW, what time to G & J come on in Australia?
Sharon,
There isn't any radio show here in Australia that Greg and Jennifer are on. My husband originally found them when they started doing That Catholic Show and I watched with interest when they were waiting for their baby to come and got very excited when I read about the eggplant.
If the eggplant works for us I will have our baby a year after Jennifer had Lily.
Hi Therese,
I was 13 days overdue with my daughter, and I had a HUGE feed of chocolate. She was born later that night.
Blessings,
Jillian
