Family reunion.

Yesterday Steve and I went to Adelaide for the day with Tom, Amelia and Christopher. Some of my mothers family has been doing research and finding out our family history.

It was great to learn about our family and where I have come from. My mothers Great Grandfather came from Tipperary and came to Western Australia as a convict. Steve said jokingly that if he had known about that he never would have married me.

It was a long day and I have a lot to do today to catch up from a day out but it was worth going to and finding out about my family history.

So what was your Great-great grandfather guilty of? Probably something like stealing a loaf of bread to feed his family.
I love learning about family. Mine are also from Ireland. Came to the US during the potatoe famine.

He was an 18 year old boy. They don't really know what he stole but he did steal something and had 9 years hard labor for it. 3 were spent in Ireland and the rest of his time was served in Australia.

Family history is so interesting, I'm still searching for my birth other but I have traced my adopted Father's line. They to were from convict stock. My GG Grandfather was sentenced to 7 years for stealing a hankie! I hope it was clean....lol

Have a great day!

Hi Therese,
We made a "Memory book" for school a couple of years ago, and included photos and family memorabilia, so that in the years to come, our descendants would know who their forebears were. It was an excellent project!
Blessings,

It is fun and interesting to research family roots. There is nothing very profound in my family background, but Ron's family is related to Mary Queen of Scots and George Stubbs, the artist. We saw his art for the first time at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.

So glad you had a wonderful day! Enjoy your rest! Cathy

(Sorry - it has been a long day.)

I love family reunions.

Our sons Tom and Christopher and our daughter Amelia are type one diabetics. We pray everyday for a cure. We do not want one by illicit means though so don't support any organisation that contributes to Embryonic Stem Cell Research. Click on the photo of Tom and Christopher to read about why I am against using Embryonic Stem cells for a cure.
