During the night Tom had ketones in his blood. Blood ketones are postive in the blood at 0.5 and Tom had 1.1. I had to resite his pump and give him extra insulin. Even though I did this he still has ketones in his blood and they are 2.6 this morning. This is pretty high so if you could please offer a prayer for him that the doctors can figure out what is happening and that his ketones come down.
thanks
Therese

Therese, I'm praying for Tom and for you too.
Prayers being offered!
Thanks for the prayers. Ketones are now 0.4 which is fine but sugars are still very high. We have changed the quickset that puts the insulin into his system so hopefully we will see some change.
I'm late to this prayer meeting, but with God there is no time - only eternity, so I can still add my prayers for Tom.
The Diabetes comes with quite a learning curve. When was Tom diagnosed with this? Can you direct me to the post where you first wrote about it. Thanks.
Your post about Why God Made Mothers is really cute.
Thanks Mary Ellen. Tom's sugars have only just come back to normal. He was diagnosed when he was a little baby. He was 14 months old. I was 34 weeks pregnant with Amelia. I wrote an article for our parish magazine at the end of the year and I have posted it here.
This is the link for that post.
Therese, Thanks for the link. I went there and left a comment.
And now all these years later, he is still having problems. I will support you and your family with prayer - nothing else I can do from here. Thank God that prayer knows no time or distance.
My Father was insulin dependent, but was not diagnosed until age 30, but then that was back in the 1930's. He gave himself a shot in the thigh twice a day. He died in 1946 when I was 18.
Methods for the care of diabetes are much better today.
Love and prayers,
We are praying for Tom and your family.
Theresa, I am glad to see things are getting normalized, but I will be praying for Tom tonight. Keep us posted!
Hugs
Ebeth
