Great Litany, Therese!
Feel free to add St. Daniel and St. Samuel. They are considered saints of the old testament. Nothing wrong with praying to our Jewish brothers that God exalted.
They would be a great addition to the litany.
I was thinking last night after posting this that it would be good to add our patron saints for the year as well.
AMEN & AMEN:).
Please keep my own mother in your prayers:). I have put a prayer for all mothers on my blog:). I wont blog tomorrow and will spend the day in prayer. You will understand why.
Peace & JOY to you Therese:)
Marie
What a beautiful litany, Therese. I have never considered that for our family. I may try to create one for us as well... Thanks for sharing the link and your litany.
God Bless,
Jane
Thank you Jane. I am hoping we will say this each night with Family prayer. I think the children will like their names being a part of the prayer and also let them know about the saints they were named after.
Very beautiful litany! I think we'll try this in the new year!
We do this after the rosary during the day, but have never included it to our night prayers. What a great idea! Thanks Therese and Happy New Year in advance! God bless you abundantly!
We've done a version of this for many years, but it always changes, as the chidren each "call out" their own three saints (or more); sometimes it's their patrons, sometimes just someone in Heaven they're learning about or are close to at the moment. Litanies are such a comforting type of prayer; even the smallest can participate in the responses. Happy & Blessed New Year to you and your family, Therese!
lovely! That's brought tears to my eyes. I will borrow the idea from you, I think.
