A blast from the past. Square Watermelons.

I wanted to have a look back through my archives and see some of the things I wrote when I first started blogging. I started blogging back in 2007. It doesn't really seem that long ago. Time just flies when you enjoy something I suppose.

Anyway, I came across This Post about the Square watermelons.

I decided to post it again because Jillian recently posted about the square watermelon too.

So here are the square watermelon:

Shelly,

are you on internet explorer? I know that two other readers were having trouble with internet explorer.

Therese,

It's actually a Blogger problem, not Internet Explorer. They are aware of it and are working on it.
There is a temporary fix though....
It has to do with the updates they did to the "favorites" gadget. If you move the "favorites" gadget all the way down to the bottom of your gadget's list...this will help the problem.
Tons of people were having problems coming to my site also...but once I fixed that....no more problems.
I do have trouble coming to your blog...sometimes it take me 3 or 4 times...or I have to go through Firefox.
You can read the information on the Blogger troubleshooting info.

Square watermelons?? How do they get them square??? Do they put the baby ones in a box as they grow???
These are pretty cool.

Nancy,

What is the favourites gadget? do you mean the followers gadget? I have moved that in case that is what you are talking about.

oh yes...I'm a complete loon sometimes....followers not favorites! I guess I got the "f" right :).
By the way...it worked!!! I came to your site the regular way and it didn't give me the error message! It worked for mine too. I kept getting emails from people thinking that I had deleted my blog!

So, Therese....is it your winter there now? Is it that the Southern Hemisphere and the Northern Hemisphere have opposite seasons? It's always so hard for me to believe that we are so far apart physicially! I enjoy your blog and getting to know you that sometimes it seems surreal to me that we've never met and that we are hemisphere's away from each other. God is so good to allow Catholic moms from the far reaches of the world to be able to interact, support and encourage each other!
I'm thankful for you!

hey Nancy,

Thanks so much. It is amazing that many of my mom friends are miles and hemispheres away from me. It is so wonderful that we can come together and support each other through the internet.

You never know, we may meet one day. I hope that when the children are all grown up that we can do a tour of the USA and meet all my blogging friends.

oh I nearly forgot. I hate winter. I really don't like not seeing the sun. We have had overcast cloudy days for the last couple of days. I know though that winter will be very short. The weather has only been really cold here for a couple of weeks and by the end of August it will be warming up again. I look forward to spring.

Hi Therese,
After looking through the comments, I don't feel so bad.

When my son told me about them, I thought that he was having me on, until I went to Snopes.

To find out that you blogged about it in 2007, that was so weird. I feel like a total noob now - I wonder how many other people have known about square watermelons for that long?

Blessings,
Jillian
