Quck 7

---1---

This is my 800th post. I have been blogging since August 2006 and love it. Thanks to all the people that come regularly to visit me here and make blogging so enjoyable.

---2---

We got Tom's new glucose meter yesterday. I decided to get the Accu Check Go meter. I am very happy with all the features. The meter has an alarm that sounds if Tom is high or low and an alarm to remind him to check. We check Tom's bsl usually between 6 and 8 times a day and we can only set 4 alarms at the moment but that is better than no alarm at all.

One of my favourite blogs to read is Yes, they are all mine by Gramma 2 many. She has posted 200 posts and is having a give away to celebrate. Pop over and look at the fantastic socks she is knitting for the giveaway. Leave a comment and you have a chance to win the socks.

On Saturday mornings we have a cooked breakfast. Steve generally does the cooking. He cooks bacon, eggs and fried tomatoes. I generally eat the eggs on toast. I am not really a fan of bacon or fried tomatoes.

---5---

Today is catch up with the washing day. I don't know why it has fallen so far behind this week but we have a heap to get done today. Tomorrow we are going to Quorn for our picnic so I really need to try and get the washing all done today.

---6---

Talking about our picnic, I think I will do some cooking today for it. Since we still have lots of pumpkins, I think some pumpkin choc chip muffins and some pumpkin bread.

---7---

This week I have been reading a lot about stem cells since the President has allowed embryonic stem cell research. I came across this article that exposes many myths about it.

Have a great weekend.

Ah, Quorn! Lived there for a year in 1985 - 86. Brought my first little baby home to Quorn. There used to be this General store where you bought your goodies. Any newcomer to town would be left standing at the counter (and ignored) for about 15 min. Wasn't a hostile place - just not really welcoming. Still, it was fun to ride along the Pitchi Ritch.

Anyway, have a lovely picnic. Congrat's on the 800th post.

Congratulations Therese, on your 800th post! What a milestone! I think I'm only at like 240 or so!

Hi Therese,
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a message. I'm wondering if you are pretty close by as you talk of visiting Quorn? Do you know Bill and Linda they are also Catholic homeschoolers In the Mid north. We homeschooled in the NT but the kids attend the local Catholic school here and we love it.
We seem to have a lot in common our age for one our dislike of housework and our love of a sleepin :D:D

Tracy,

We certainly do know Bill and Linda. I get all my curriculum from them and have visited them often.

maybe we can get together one day with them.

I'm a little behind you, I didn't even know what a blog was back in 2006!
I just made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies about a week ago. So good, but so bad! Those are the types of things that I can't stop eating.

That I should see 800! What an accomplishment. Whew!
I just walked in from driving 200 miles home from my daughters. I had to go straight to the computer because I had to show my husband something. Now I have to quit reading blogs and unload my car.
Thanks for the shout out and hope the picnic was loads of fun. Am looking forward to picnic weather up here. It snowed today.
